On September 23, we again partnered with the nonprofit EarthPaint.org to collect unwanted latex paint in exchange for donations to both CTC and EarthPaint. It was win-win recycling as we helped area residents get rid of those half-empty paint cans from their garages and basements and kept all those cans and paint out of the landfills. Even better, Earth Paint will give all that old paint a new purpose by using it to create new paint that it will sell at its retail store in Wood Dale or donate to other worthy organizations (while employing people with disabilities!).

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the event a success: Alec, Ari, Beth, Carol, Colin, Donna, Linda, Mary, Michael, Nate, Sandy, and Stephanie. Thanks also to Roberta Sullivan of d’Vine Wine in Palatine for allowing us to stage the event in front of her store. And finally, thanks to all those who dropped off paint in support of the fundraiser. We recycled well over 400 cans of paint and raised over $2,000 to support Connect to Community and EarthPaint in their efforts to assist adults with disabilities.
