We kicked off our 2017-2018 calendar of Educational Outreach events with our September Friday Forum featuring a presentation by Julie Tracy, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Urban Autism Solutions. With a presentation titled “Beyond the Diagnosis: Planning for your Young Adult’s Transition Years and Beyond”, Julie shared her family’s amazing story and talked about the challenges that families face in raising a child with a disability. She also discussed the creation and evolution of Urban Autism Solutions, a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing outcomes for young adults with autism through an integrated community life that advances social and vocational opportunities. From their Project 1212 residence and Network 1212 Social Club, to their innovative vocational initiatives like WashDog and Growing Solutions Farm, Urban Autism Solutions is a leader in creative programming and services.

Video from this event can be accessed at https://youtu.be/u5R8Q1btf_k and a copy of Julie’s PowerPoint is available upon request. You can also learn more about Urban Autism Solutions by visiting their website at https://www.urbanautismsolutions.com/
