Planet Access in Des Plaines was the site of our February Informational Tour.

Planet Access, a social enterprise of Search, Inc., is a third-party logistics provider that offers warehousing, inventory management, packaging, fulfillment and more, and is committed to furthering the mission of Search by providing employment opportunities to people with disabilities. The company employs up to 70 individuals annually in paid, train-to-work opportunities, including product assembly, order processing, and materials handling. Train-to-work employment allows individuals with disabilities to earn a wage while they gain valuable work experience. In addition, 100% of the profits from Planet Access Company are invested back into Search, Inc. for the benefit of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Career Services initiative at Search, Inc. also assists people with disabilities in identifying skills, interests and abilities, addressing challenges, and achieving success in employment. Their goal is to provide a pathway to employment from training, to paid work opportunities, to competitive jobs in the community.
