Our February Informational Tours took us to two Clearbrook CILAs (Community Integrated Living Arrangements) and the Commons ICF/IID (Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities).

Our first stop was the Fogarty CILA, which is home to six women and is staffed 24/7, followed by the Dwyer CILA, which is home to seven individuals (co-ed) with intermittent support. Clearbrook operates 56 community-based homes throughout 23 different communities, each with four to eight residents. The goal is for all residents to be as independent as possible in both their home and their community.

Our final stop was at the Lattof Commons ICF/IID in Rolling Meadows. The Commons is one of four Clearbrook ICFs, and the largest with 85 residents. Personalized care is provided by trained staff on a 1:4 ratio and this location offers 24/7 access to nursing support. Many residents attend the ACES on-site day program or the Riley day program in Rolling Meadows.

Many thanks to Heidi Raymond, Director of Admissions, for planning and facilitating our tours along with Noel Rosen and Jessica Tricarico. The demand was so high for these tours that Clearbrook was kind enough to repeat all the tours for us on a second day in order to accommodate as many families as possible. We were grateful to have the opportunity to see these residential options in person and to hear about the services that Clearbrook provides.
