We were honored to welcome Tim Engstrom as the featured speaker at this month’s Friday Forum as he discussed The HOPE Handbook: A Guide for Disability Hiring.

Tim is the Head of Supply Chain & Logistics for LA-CO Industries in Elk Grove Village as well as an Adjunct Professor in Supply Chain Management at Elmhurst College where each year he mentors a group of graduate students in implementing a capstone project. It was here that the idea of the HOPE Handbook was born, looking to help businesses reduce turnover and increase productivity by utilizing an untapped portion of the population: people with disabilities.

Expanding on his work with the HOPE Handbook, Tim is also the co-founder of Teachability LLC which looks to match candidates with disabilities with companies looking to start a disability hiring program.

We talk a lot about employment here at CTC and it was wonderful to have this opportunity to look at the employment question from the prospective of the employer and hear how hiring people with disabilities can be great for business.

Educational Outreach events are offered in partnership with the Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization (NSSEO) and are paid for in part by a community grant from Palatine Township. Thank you both for your support!
